Hi this week I applied for a Nationwide Flex account so I can use it abroad. I received a call from them saying I had been declined for that account but offered a cashcard only account. I can't understand why, I am 34 have a mortgage - never missed a payment, have approx £2,500 on credit card but never miss a payment. I work for the civil service so guaranteed income. I have been at my current address for 7 years and with my other bank for 17 years. My current accounts are always in credit. The only thing I can think is that I do switch to 0% cards regularly although haven't added anything to my credit card in about 2 years, or I am currently remortgaging - without adding anything - would this be why I have been declined. I would be interested in your thoughts.

The banks do frown on the credit card stoozers.
What you should do is write a letter to the bank asking they why you have been refused and then go on to list all of the points as to why they should accept you as a customer, following which they may reconsider their decision. |
