Just forget about it, its an income stock you should not look for much capital gains from an income stock.

Look in ten years you will make 100% i.e. just from income ! So any capital gain would be a bonus

The New CEO of United Utilities recently bought a load of shares, so if he's investing then it should have good prospects ?

Ive just invested £3000 in it as well for the dividends.

Green buys big in United Utilities

THE new chief executive of United Utilities, Philip Green, has shown his commitment to the water and power company by buying 100,000 shares for £675,000 just before taking up the post.
The purchase will be confirmed to the London Stock Exchange tomorrow and the utility, which has a market value of £5.9 billion, is expected to say it will match the investment if Green stays for the next five years.

It is a big financial commitment for Green, who takes up his appointment tomorrow after leaving P&O Nedlloyd where he had been chief executive.

Green, who will be on a basic salary of about £675,000, will take over from John Roberts, who is retiring.

In addition he will be granted options over some 78,000 shares that will become payable within two years if some tough, pre-set performance targets are hit.

The decision by United Utilities to encourage Green to stay for five years is an important timescale for the company and will ensure he is in charge through the industry’s next regulatory review in four years.

In a sign of the changes that are being seen in board-level remuneration packages, the company is unlikely to offer Green a final-salary pension scheme. Instead he will be on a defined-contribution scheme. To compensate him, Green is being offered a higher basic salary than his predecessor.

Shares in the company have now returned to levels last seen at the turn of the millennium, and closed the week at 679p.

Hope you bought on the drop Quinn, cos its back up to £6.90 !

The dividend was pretty good at 30pence !! next one will be about £15p in december,

I think it would be a good idea to sell now and buy back in say late october, since £6.90p is not cheap !
