An amazing 3% cashback card on groceries and fuel !!! - This cannot be beat !!!

Below is a summary of the fees and charges. The information contained in this table summarises the product features of the GE Money Credit Card .

Interest-free period Maximum 56 days for purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time. There is no interest free period on cash transactions. Interest free period on balance transfers only applies to the introductory period.

Charges Cash transactions - 2% with a minimum of £2.
Copies of statements - £3.
Overseas transactions - 2.75% (Including purchase of foreign currency and travellers´ cheques).
We will charge a 2.5% balance transfer fee(min £5, max £50).
Default charges Late payment fee - £15.
Over credit limit fee - £15.
Administration fee for returned cheques or direct debits - £15.

I can't see how they can afford to give 3% cashback, since I doubt they make that much per transaction ??? This is very puzzling and does not sound right, something is wrong here.

At best I think this is a very temporary loss leader to get people to sign up and then shortly there after the 3% cashback will be cut to something like 0.5%

Apparently they have a backlog of applications so if you do apply online it may be upto 2 weeks before you get an acknowledgement

Because of the high reward they have a very strict screening policy, basically if your cards well managed (i.e. not profitable for the card comapnies) or if you lack a good credit history then your likely to be rejected.

I got my statement yesterday, and a quick calc shows that its 3% on all transactions including over £5k Smile

Hmmm

I have a GE card and it was refused the other day when I tried to order something online, and no I'm not over the limit Wink

Ive contacted GE but not had a response yet, though it did work okay in the supermarket

Anyone experiencing problems with their GE card ?
