Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to transfer some money from the USA to UK.
My sister is coming over in June and she plans to stay for a while and go on holiday etc. But she wants to start sending money over and put it in some kind of bank account - which I may have to open, but she'll use while she is over here.
Now, does anyone have any suggestions as to how we can transfer money from the states to UK, incurring the smallest amount of chrages?
Any advice would be fantastic!

Open a citibank dollar and sterling current account (in the uk), then draw a cheque on your US account to be paid into the citibank account, and transfer between the account at fairly good rates.. no charges incurred.
Or you could do an funds transfer from your US account to a UK bank account , though there will be a transfer fee of $20 and exchange fees of 1% or so. |
