The 18866 telephone service offers calls at an amazing 1p PER CALL !
Thats anytime for any length charged at a flat rate of 1p per minute

Remember thats for calls to ANY UK landline !

MObile are also relatively cheap at 3p per minute

Sorry I forgot to mentions there is NO monthly charge
No charges whatsoever ! its a flat rate 1p per call nothing more to any UK landline.

WOW !

That beats what I have been using for several years, i.e. Transet which gives me free calls if under 10 mins in length but charge me £2.50 per month so the savings not that much off of BT

But this one seems a LOT better !

Whats happening to 18866 ?

Earlier today, I made a call and got a message that I would be charged 2p per minute, I hung up and again redialed and told 3pence, hung up and on the third time I am told its 0p ?

Is anyone expericing this strange phenomena ?

Yeh I get the strange messages also - But I did a test call on the 3p per min charge and I was still charged 0p for the call.

So I think you can ignore the charge message

They increased the connection cost per call to 2pence from 1pence this was a few months back.
